About This Project

For the third time, Dowdle partnered with the Monen Family Restaurant Group on the local favorite Taco Mamacita. Previously located in Edgehill, regulars from the original Nashville location will not be disappointed in the new Germantown spot. All their cherished favorites have returned, alongside exciting new additions to the menu.

Steeped in community history, Taco Mamacita’s building dates to 1939 when it was initially constructed for the Salvation Army. In 1973, it became home to Little’s Fish Market, serving the community for five decades until its closure in 2021.

Opened in 2023, the revitalized restaurant boasts an inviting indoor/outdoor bar accentuated by raked plaster walls and vibrant, colorful light fixtures, creating an atmosphere that is welcoming and lively.

Taco Mamacita’s journey began with its flagship restaurant in Chattanooga in 2008, which quickly garnered widespread acclaim. This success paved the way for expansions into Nashville’s Edgehill neighborhood in 2009 and Sullivan’s Island in South Carolina in 2010. In Nashville, it proudly joins the ranks of other esteemed establishments built by Dowdle Construction for the Monen Family Restaurant Group, including Milk & Honey and HIFI Clyde’s.

With its rich history and commitment to culinary excellence, Taco Mamacita continues to be a beloved destination for food enthusiasts, offering a delightful fusion of flavors and experiences that capture the essence of its vibrant surroundings.
