About This Project

Shelby Park is the oldest park in the Metro Nashville Park system.   Phase I renovations were completed in time to celebrate the park’s 100th anniversary in 2012.

Work included the creation of a large public lawn, new spill way from Sevier Park Lake, new baseball field, extension of the Shelby Park Greenway, and additional parking.  DCG also worked with Metro Arts Commission to assist in the preparation for and installation of the Reflection public art.

Phase II work was completed by Dowdle in 2014. That work consisted of an extension of the Shelby Park Greenway, and new irrigation for the softball field.

All design work was by local landscape architect Hawkins Partners.
