Responsible for pricing new construction projects, David Plott has almost 40 years of estimating experience and six years of project management experience. He has worked on construction projects in many sectors, including retail, banking, industrial, warehouse/distribution, office, healthcare, multi-family, hospitality, military, educational and government.

“We are excited to welcome someone with David’s extensive experience, while also continuing to benefit from Terry’s decades of work in this industry,” said Dowdle Construction Group Principal Glynn Dowdle. It’s clear that David is an expert estimator, having worked in this role for many years on virtually every type of project that we do, and we’re sure he will fill Terry’s big shoes.

Plott comes to the Dowdle team from W.G. Yates Construction where he was manager of preconstruction services. Prior to that, he worked as senior estimator and estimating manager at Skanska USA Building. Prior to Skanska, he spent 11 years with Centex Construction Group, where he worked with general contractors as lead estimator with Centex Landis in New Orleans, was promoted to senior estimator for Centex Rooney in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and, ultimately, became senior estimator for the healthcare group at Centex Rodgers in Nashville.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in building construction from Auburn University, and he has an ASHE Healthcare Construction Certification.

“I’m excited to be working on Dowdle’s diverse portfolio of projects and to learn from Terry, a true veteran in the industry,” said Plott. “He and the rest of the team are so kind and enthusiastic – I can tell that this is a great place to work.”
