Dowdle Construction worked with the University of Tennessee and Pilgrim Penland Cooper & Perry Architects to complete masonry repairs on the exterior of the Hodges Library on the Knoxville campus. Each of more than 400 windows had new flashing and weeps installed, which was accomplished by removing three courses of brick above and below each window.
Architect D.W. Penland, Jr. said, “It was a pleasure to work with Dowdle Construction Group on a difficult and detailed masonry repair and restoration project for the Hodges Library at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus. The work took place while the library was in use, and Dowdle adapted well to limited accessibility to the building and restrictions on noise during exam periods. They provided timely responses to all requests and conducted their work in a professional and satisfactory manner. Without hesitation, I recommend them, and would welcome them on our projects in the future.”
