V Modern Italian

Dowdle Construction completed a 7,000-square-foot build-out for V Modern Italian in the Modera Gulch building at 820 Division Street in Nashville. The project transformed the former Hi-Wire Brewing location into a fast-fine Italian dining destination influenced by Michelin-starred chef Stefano Ciotti. V Modern Italian is part of a European restaurant concept developed by the Fast Fine Restaurant Group, which operates multiple international locations across Sweden, Spain, Turkey, Belgium and Saudi Arabia. The Nashville restaurant marks the group’s first U.S. location.

The reimagined interior features plush velvet booths, prefabricated millwork and wainscoting, abundant greenery, and large-scale artistic murals by internationally recognized street art duo PichiAvo. Upon entry, guests are welcomed by a striking oval gantry bar finished with a white marble countertop and green tile detailing at its base, creating a bold focal point within the space. A DJ booth, discreetly positioned in the corner, supports the restaurant’s energetic atmosphere. The lighting design includes nine custom chandeliers paired with a custom track lighting system, all remotely controlled to adapt the ambiance throughout service.

The open-concept kitchen was designed to balance efficiency with visibility, featuring a custom pizza oven, dedicated pasta cookers and specialized heating equipment to deliver a fine-dining experience at a fast pace. Outside, the dog-friendly patio extends the dining environment with lush greenery and is equipped with fans and heaters to provide year-round comfort.

Dowdle partnered closely with the Livit and Comma DesignWorks teams to thoughtfully reimagine and revitalize the space, transforming it into a dynamic Italian restaurant that seamlessly blends elevated design, inviting ambiance and a vibrant dining experience.
