Richland Creek Greenway is one of Nashville’s most popular Greenways. Dowdle Construction built the Greenway in three phases. The trail meanders around McCabe’s Golf Course crossing Richland Creek in three locations.
The Greenway is adjacent to Dutchman’s Curve (see the second photo), the site of one of the deadliest train wrecks in American history. The wreck occurred on July 9, 1918 and the death toll was 101 with 171 injured. A portion of the rail that was salvaged following the wreck is embedded in the concrete near wooden benches.
DCG also worked with the Metropolitan Arts Commission to prepare the site for the installation of Aileron, which is pictured below.
