Whites Creek Operations Control Center

Dowdle Construction Group completed the renovation of the Whites Creek Operations Control Center at 1360B County Hospital Road in Nashville, Tennessee, delivering a transformed facility in June 2026. The project converted an existing Sludge Treatment Facility at the Whites Creek Water Reclamation Facility into a modern, fully functional operations center. The scope of work encompassed the complete interior transformation of the existing structure, including a new building entrance, dedicated control room, laboratory, conference room, break room, locker room, and restrooms, along with associated site improvements. Designed with sustainability at its core, the project is targeting LEED Gold Certification for Commercial Interiors, reflecting a commitment to long-term operational efficiency and environmental responsibility.

The finished facility provides Metro Water Services staff with a professional, purpose-built environment suited to the demands of water reclamation operations. The new control room serves as the operational hub of the facility, while the laboratory, conference room, and support spaces create an integrated workplace that balances technical function with everyday comfort. The locker room and break room additions reflect attention to staff wellbeing, ensuring the facility supports the people who keep critical infrastructure running. The overall renovation was designed to enhance both efficiency and the quality of the working environment without interrupting the facility’s ongoing operational mission.

Site improvements accompanying the interior work helped establish a refreshed presence for the facility within the Whites Creek Water Reclamation campus. Dowdle Construction Group collaborated closely with Barge Design Solutions throughout the project, coordinating the technical complexity of renovating an active utility facility while meeting the rigorous requirements of LEED Gold Certification.
